Traffic restrictions will be gradually introduced around Europe Square and surrounding streets in Tbilisi from September 11 to 14 due to the international Red Bull Soapbox Race, according to Tbilisi City Hall.
During the first stage, from 8:00 p.m. on September 11 until 10:00 p.m. on September 12, traffic will be temporarily restricted on Wine Rise and Dutu Megreli Street. Two lanes on Metekhi Bridge toward Europe Square will also be closed, while one outer lane on Europe Square will be restricted up to the beginning of Noe Zhordania Embankment.
During the second stage, from 10:00 p.m. on September 12 until 3:00 a.m. on September 14, vehicle traffic will be fully restricted on Europe Square, Metekhi Bridge, Wine Rise, Dutu Megreli Street and the section of Noe Zhordania Embankment connecting to Europe Square. Vehicles will be able to travel from Vakhtang Gorgasali Square toward Kote Abkhazi Street, while traffic from Gorgasali Street along the right bank of the Mtkvari will retain alternative routes.
Public transport routes using Europe Square will also be modified. Municipal buses N102, N301, N310, N331 and N345, as well as minibuses N550 and N580, will be rerouted from Gorgasali Street via Kote Abkhazi Street and Freedom Square toward Baratashvili Street. Bus N333, traveling toward Ketevan Tsamebuli Avenue, will also bypass Europe Square, using Baratashvili Bridge and Baratashvili Street before rejoining its regular route.
