The National Bank of Georgia published a report on money transfer statistics for August 2023.
96.6% of the total money transfers from abroad came from 25 largest partner countries, with the volume of transfers from these countries each exceeding 1 million USD in August 2023. In August 2022 the share of these 25 countries constituted 95.3% percent of the total volume of money transfers.
Russia was the leader by remittances in August, from which USD 60.3 million were transferred, which ws 46% low. Russia's share in total remittances is 21%. The second place is occupied by Italy with USD 45 million, the annual growth amounts to 23%.
Followed by the USA, from which remittances increased by 37.6% amounting to USD 40.2 million. Germany ranks on the fourth place with USD 20.4 million, and the annual growth is 33%. Greece takes fifth place with almost USD 20 million, the growth here is 6%. Kazakhstan ranks 6th in remittances with USD 18.7 million, from which the growth is 55%.
