Turkey's exports to the Caucasus and Central Asia from the Sarp border checkpoint on the Georgian border last year amounted to $1.132 billion (+69.7%), said Hopa Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Osman Akyurek, Report informs.
During the reporting period, $130.8 million worth of imports were carried out through the Sarp border checkpoint. As a result, Azerbaijan's exports exceeded imports by 90%. More than 200,000 trucks passed via the checkpoint for export operations.
Last year, 456,000 people entered Turkey from Sarp, and 501,900 went abroad.
In 2021, a total of 448,100 cars passed through the Sarp border checkpoint, with 205,400 entrances and 242,700 exits. Of these vehicles, 365,000 were trucks entering and exiting the country for commercial purposes.
