Georgia’s broadcasting sector saw a significant upswing in advertising revenue in Q1 2026, according to new data from the Communications Commission (ComCom). Overall commercial advertising income for TV and radio broadcasters reached GEL 27 million, marking a 64% increase compared to the same period last year.

Television was the clear driver of growth. TV broadcasters generated GEL 25.6 million in commercial ad revenues in the first quarter, up 73% year-over-year. Of this amount, direct advertising accounted for 87%, followed by product placement (7.6%) and sponsorships (5%).

In contrast, radio broadcasters experienced a decline. Radio ad revenues fell by 15% annually, totaling GEL 1.4 million. Direct ads made up 90% of that amount, while sponsorships contributed 9.1% and paid announcements 0.6%.

ComCom notes that commercial advertising revenues include income from direct ads, sponsorships, product placement, teleshopping, and commercial announcements.
