Employers in Ukraine will be fined for indicating the desired gender, color, race or age in vacancies. The relevant amendments to the Law on Advertising entered into force on January 8.

Thus, the authorities are trying to prevent discrimination, primarily on the basis of gender, News Read Online reports. 

In general, the prohibition of discrimination in advertising of vacancies in Ukraine has been operating since 1996.

Employers are prohibited from writing the desired age of candidates, their gender, race, skin color, social origin, property status and place of residence.

For violation of the norm employers face a fine of ten times the minimum wage. At the moment, it is UAH 65 thousand ($2,376).

The fine will need to be paid within 15 calendar days from the date of delivery of the document, it will be imposed by the State Labor Service.

In case of a fine will not be paid, it can be collected through the court.
