The Unit Value Index of Agricultural Products increased by 12.8% compared to the previous quarter, - according to the report published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat). The change was mainly due to a 11.2% increase in the unit value of live animals and animal products, which contributed 6.25 percentage points to the total index change.
Compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year, the Unit Value Index of Agricultural Products increased by 4.8%. The latter was largely caused by the 6.4% increase in the unit value of live animals and animal products, which contributed 3.48 percentage points to the total index change. In the same period, the unit value of perennial crops went up by 5.5% and went down by 1.0 percent for non-perennial crops, with the relevant contribution of 1.48 and -0.18 percentage points to the total index change, respectively.
