“Until our economic development reaches the required level, the state has a positive obligation to care for the most vulnerable population", Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said at the beginning of a government meeting.
Gakharia spoke about the parameters of the 2020 budget and reiterated that next year's budget will be oriented on the citizens.
"According to the 2020 budget, all pensioners, as well as disabled persons of the first and second categories, will have a pension increase of 20 GEL. I would also like to mention that pensioners over 70 years old – will get additional 30 GEL, while pensioners living in the mountains will have about 300 GEL. Also, full time teachers’ salary will increase up to 300 GEL.
The 2020 budget is tailored to the citizens’ need, and especially to those, who need help, including children, retirees, teachers, doctors, law enforcement officers and soldiers. According to this year's budget, there will be a salary increase for both kindergarten teachers, emergency and village doctors, soldiers, police officers and cultural workers", said Gakharia.
