The current US administration has directly confirmed that American taxpayer money was spent in other countries (including Georgia) to organize revolutions, destabilize the country, and develop dire scenarios, - GD Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said on Wednesday in his interview with Imedi TV.
According to him, the US funding has brought war and destruction to the countries.
“The Trump administration stated that American funding, American taxpayer money, was being used to destabilize the situation in other countries and to create revolutionary scenarios. You remember the debates taking place around the “Transparency Law,” when they said that we were putting Russia and the United States on the same level. According to them, we negatively considered American funding. In reality, what we thought and said was directly confirmed by the current US administration", - Kobakhidze said.
According to GD Prime Minister, US funding was the source of revolution, war, and a thousand misfortunes.
"Today, we are glad that the Trump administration is looking at this event correctly, and most importantly, we hope that the funding of revolutionary processes, including voter fraud will be stopped for a long time. "American taxpayers' money cannot be used to organize a revolution in Georgia. Do you remember the Canvas training, when representatives of the cultural sphere were trained to organize a revolution in Georgia? USAID money was used specifically for this. Today, it is good that the presidential administration looks at these issues differently, and we hope that this approach will remain in force for a long time," the Prime Minister said.
Reminder, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio had halted spending on almost all foreign aid programs for 90 days.
