During the September 26 session, the Armenian government took a step toward strengthening cooperation with the United States by approving a presidential decree to amend the grant agreement between the two countries.

This decision paves the way for a significant increase in U.S. assistance to Armenia, amounting to $130 million, raising the total USAID investment to an impressive $250 million.

The new financial injections are aimed at driving development in critical areas of Armenia. Among the priority sectors are disaster risk management, highly relevant to a region prone to natural disasters, and cybersecurity, a field whose importance in today’s world cannot be overstated.

Special attention will be given to strengthening the country’s food and energy security, which should enhance Armenia's resilience to external challenges.

An important aspect of the program is the promotion of regional cooperation and trade development, which could help improve Armenia’s economic situation and strengthen its position on the international stage.

Domestic development issues were not overlooked either: part of the funds will be directed toward supporting democratic processes and fostering inclusive economic growth.
