On October 22, Secretary of Armenia’s Security Council Armen Grigoryan held a meeting with Michael Carpenter, Special Assistant to the President of the United States and Director for Europe at the National Security Council, as reported by the press service of the Security Council.
During the talks, the sides discussed the current state and future prospects of Armenian-American relations. Particular attention was paid to the implementation of already reached agreements and the identification of further areas of cooperation between the two countries.
A significant part of the meeting was dedicated to issues of regional security and the negotiation process for the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. In this context, Armen Grigoryan reaffirmed Armenia's readiness to swiftly sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan.
The parties also exchanged views on security issues beyond the region.
