Viktor Japaridze, a member of the People’s Power party, has sold his 52% stake in POSTV, a television company sanctioned by the United Kingdom, for GEL 1,000. The relevant documents have been submitted to Georgia’s National Agency of Public Registry.
The new owner of the controlling stake is Giorgi Shengelia, who previously managed Japaridze’s shares. Shengelia first appeared in the broadcaster’s official records on September 23, when he was registered as the manager of Japaridze’s stake.
Shengelia is also the director and sole owner of LLC POSTV Supporters, an organization he registered on February 25, 2026, one day after POSTV was sanctioned.
Japaridze acquired the controlling stake in POSTV on October 3, 2022, for a total of GEL 520,000. The remaining shares are held by Temur Charelashvili and Shalva Ramishvili, who each own 24% of the company.
