Referring to survey results, in 2023, 29 enterprises were involved in water supply activities in Georgia. The volume of water provided to households amounted to 231.5 million cubic metres which is 11.3 percent higher compared to 2022 (208.0 million cubic meters), - according to the preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
As of December 31, 2023, the number of population connected to water supply industry amounted to 2.75 million (74.5 %) which was 3% higher compared to 2022 (2.67 million).
In 2023, the number of population connected to a wastewater collecting system increased by 1% compared to the year prior (1.96 million) and amounted to 1.98 million (53.7 %), while the number of population connected to wastewater treatment facilities increased by 2% compared to previous year (1.49 million) and reached 1.52 million (41.2 % of total population).
