Spice manufacturing company Waime Spices has started cooperation with the American company. As Giorgi Gogia, the founder of the Georgian company, told BM.GE, the American brand, which [has not been named due to the terms of the agreement] is starting to sell spices in Miami.
The US-based company contacted Waime Spices 5-6 months ago and offered to create a range of spices for them. Waime Spices accepted a proposal for cooperation and started working to meet the relevant requirements for exporting of spices to America.
"This is a new American brand that was looking for an international "outsourced" company for the production of spices. As a result of research, they found us. We worked on for over 6 months and created a range of spices for them.
As a result, we sent 6 types of spices amounting to 500 kg to America, specifically to Miami. We agreed with this company that we would become their exclusive supplier, which means supplying 3 tons of spices annually, and this volume will increase over time," Giorgi Gogia notes.
According to the co-founder of Waime Spice, this is the first case of cooperation with an American company, so they had to get a certificate from the FDA:
"Opening of US market is another opportunity for the company and very promising step for future development", - Giorgi Gogia said.
Waime Spices sells 450 kg of spices every month, of which 50% is produced in Georgia, while another half is imported. In addition to the local market, the company exports the spice to Azerbaijan and Hungary.
