The World Bank has revised Georgia’s 2025 economic growth forecast upward to 7%, an increase of 1.5 percentage points from its previous projection. The updated outlook was published in the institution’s latest regional economic review.

According to the World Bank, Georgia’s actual economic performance in 2024 exceeded expectations, prompting the revision. The Bank also forecasts that Georgia’s economy will expand by 5.5% in 2026, 0.5 percentage points higher than its June estimate.

The report also includes updated projections for neighboring countries. Armenia’s growth forecast was raised to 5.2%, Azerbaijan’s was lowered to 1.9%, Russia’s decreased to 0.9%, and Turkey’s improved to 3.5%.

Other international financial institutions have also adjusted their forecasts for Georgia. Over the past month, both the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) increased their growth expectations to 7%, while the International Monetary Fund (IMF) slightly revised its July forecast to 7.2%.
