The Agrarian Issues and the EU Integration Committees heard the Reports on the Fulfillment of the EUAA and the National Action Plan of the EU Integration for 2021 and the Report by the Environmental Ministry on Fulfillment of the Commitments for 2022.
The reporter, Head of the International Relations and EU Integration Department of the Ministry, Lasha Inauri introduced information on the EUAA commitments in the agrarian sphere for 2021 including the sector cooperation, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, which implies the food safety, veterinary and plant protection.
The spokesperson also dwelt on the civic engagement in the legal approximation process and hence, the communication with the private sector, development of laboratory capacity, and development of the agricultural sphere.
"State laboratories are a legal entity of public law of the Ministry. Gradually, their scope of accreditation is expanded and priority is given to the normative acts that are close to the Association Agreement. We do not have either ambition or resources that one laboratory can conduct all kinds of research on all products. It's impossible. Even in Europe, it is distributed by countries, however we try to follow this process. What we are not able to do here, we have very good cooperation with European laboratories, including the Baltic countries. So, it will not prevent any products from exporting to the EU market”, - Lasha Inauri said.
