We Don't Expect Any Delay In Budgetary Grants And Loans From The EU - Giorgi Kakauridze

IMF

The First Deputy Minister of Finance, Giorgi Kakauridze, does not expect that there will be a delay in the budget grants and loans from the European Union. He told BMG about it.

"Any grant from the European Union is based on specific reforms, in which our commitments are quite important. For example, we are talking about 50% participation in some new project, which will be in some direction. I don't think that similar budget grants will be suspended. We will continue to work in this direction and I think that there will be similar grants in the future. As for the loans that we receive, we think that these loans will not have any delays. The investments that are planned within the framework of these loans will be carried out smoothly. We do not expect such projects to stop from the European Bank for Reconstruction (EBRD), as well as from the European Investment Bank (EIB), because it serves the country's infrastructure and not the interests of any person," Giorgi Kakauridze said.

As for the European Peace Fund (EPF), which considers aid in the direction of defense, according to Giorgi Kakauridze, it is expected to receive 30 million EUR in the next years, as he notes, it is not a very large amount, but it is important and suspension is not desirable.
