According to Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, the reorganization of the Tbilisi City Hall began before the political events, therefore "there will be many, big changes in the City Hall".
As Kaladze said at today's meeting of the capital city government, they heard a lot of wrong assessments regarding the reorganization of the city hall. According to him, if a person sees when the reorganization was announced, he will see the date and "clearly make sure that the announced reorganization has nothing to do with the processes that have been taking place in the capital for the last few days."
"Reorganization was announced much earlier, finally in 2017 we carried out reorganization, optimization of services, and accordingly, we started to implement the aforementioned, because I think it is important to make the situation even healthier. Let's further strengthen and simplify the work of services, which, of course, should affect the capital and the people living in the capital. We have heard a lot of evaluations, which are not true. First, I would like to emphasize that the reorganization has absolutely nothing to do with the current political processes," said Kaladze.
He also made clarifications regarding bonuses.
"I would also like to emphasize one thing that, for example, yesterday, we heard political assessments regarding bonuses, that as if we are using the issue of giving or not giving bonuses to blackmail employees, which is a lie, a lie is not true.
I have been the mayor of Tbilisi since 2017, you cannot cite a single case that we punished someone because of political views, or that I had an unfair attitude towards someone because of their views on various issues. There is no example in nature that divides us humans on political grounds or because of some beliefs. As for the bonus issue in general, the bonus is determined by the legislation, a specific employee is evaluated in relation to his work, and of course, the head of his department makes a decision and does what is stipulated by the law. There was no case that we oppressed anyone, we had an unfair attitude towards anyone.
A petition signed by a little more than 200 employees was also circulated. We have a lot of evidence of how employees were blackmailed, bullied, which is categorically unacceptable. Of course, we will not allow people to be bullied into signing or not signing something. This creates a very unhealthy situation in the workplace, which is categorically unacceptable. Accordingly, I would like to tell you that regarding premiums, we will act as the law tells us. We have never done, and we will not do it now, to punish people because of some opinions, although I will tell you here that we had announced the reorganization before and there will be many, big changes in the municipality," said Kakha Kaladze.
