We have not seen any evidence for this decision. This decision raises a big question mark for me. It is unfortunate and incomprehensible, said the Prime Minister, Irakli Gharibashvili, responding to the designation of Georgian judges by the USA.
The Prime Minister hopes that the truth will be revealed.
"We have not seen any evidence for this decision. This decision raises a big question mark for me. It is unfortunate and incomprehensible. I think the truth will be revealed. We will talk to our partners, no question will be left unanswered.
It was a surprise for me too. I never heard that there were certain questions. If anyone has such facts, we are ready to hear them. I want to say that it is unacceptable and inadmissible to interfere in an independent court of a sovereign country in any way. The authorities are doing everything possible to strengthen the independence of the judiciary. In all countries, it is a kind of taboo that it is inadmissible, it is unacceptable, it is illegal to put pressure on the judge and interfere in the court. We will follow this policy and strengthen it even more. Our common desire is to have an even more independent, free and strong court," the Prime Minister said.
