“Over the past week, the Georgian government has brutally cracked down on pro-EU demonstrations. We have to consider how we can use the tools at our disposal to defend basic rights and preserve an environment where people can freely and fairly decide their future,” U.S. Senator James Risch said.
“And to Senator Shaheen, I want to thank you for arranging the phone call with the president of Georgia that we had this morning. It was enlightening, and hopefully, we’ll be able to make some progress in that regard,” the U.S. Senator stated.
