გიორგი ამილახვარი

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze expressed his gratitude to the State Security Service of Georgia (SSG) for alerting the public about the impending use of counterfeit recordings ahead of the elections scheduled for October 26.

The Prime Minister stated that certain political factions, including the “radical opposition” and their “foreign patrons,” aim to “harm the country.”

“I firmly believe that such actions will not adversely affect the results of the elections. Nevertheless, I commend our state institutions, particularly the State Security Service, for their vigilance. We must ensure no one can negatively impact the electoral process. I would like to extend my thanks to the SSG for providing the public with valuable information to promote caution,” he remarked.

According to intelligence gathered by the State Security Service of Georgia (SSG), groups linked to political circles are planning to distribute forged video and audio recordings in the days leading up to the forthcoming parliamentary elections in Georgia.
