Some businesses are already talking about the deterioration of the investment environment. According to them, investors have already stopped new projects and current ones are also under question.
Kakha Sharabidze, managing partner of law firm BLB says that international media are actively covering the developments in the country, therefore all foreign investors who intend to do business in Georgia are aware of the severity of the situation. Accoridng to him, the investment image of the country can be ruined soon, but its restoration requires a long time.
"We are already receiving a lot of questions. I will tell you directly that some projects have been paused due to these circumstances. Our clients send us international press, where Georgia is not presented in a good light.
This hinders the progress of our projects. In some cases, the project was paused. Our clients ask us how these events will affect their businesses, including the law which was adopted so forcibly. We have to actively communicate in this direction. All this has a direct impact on current and potential projects, as well as on the existing business environment," says BLB partner Kakha Sharabidze.
