We want to see Georgia advance along that path - we stand ready to continue to be a partner to the Georgian people, to Georgian society, to the Georgian Government as they seek to do so, US State Department spokesperson Ned Price said in response to a question whether the current situation in Georgia politically undermines the US interest in the region in light of the war.
"Well, we think some of the actions, some of the rhetoric, has worked against the interests of the Georgian people. That’s what we care most about when it comes to Georgia and its chosen path, its chosen path of greater Euro-Atlantic integration and its EU aspirations. We want to see Georgia advance along that path. We stand ready to continue to be a partner to the Georgian people, to Georgian society, to the Georgian Government as they seek to do so," Ned Price stated.
