The President of the Wissol Group declares, that the company is trying to find cheaper sources of petroleum products.
Soso Pkhakadze made this comment in response to the statement of Irakli Lekvinadze, chairman of the Competition Agency. Lekvinadze said a few days ago that many companies could supply fuel to consumers at a cheap price of 20-25 tetri, but did not do so.
"We had a professional discussion with the Competition Agency on this topic and there was nothing special. We continue to work in the mode we always do. This country is completely dependent on imports of oil products and we have to buy oil products at the same price as the world market has. Oil price in Georgia depends entirely on the international price of oil products. We are looking for cheap sources and if the product becomes cheaper, it will be adequately reflected in the prices. We have signed a contract and we are trying to find cheap sources," Soso Pkhakadze said.
The Chairman of the Georgian National Competition Agency spoke about the results of the monitoring of the fuel market in the Parliament at the sitting of the Committee on May 18 this year.
