“We have made it clear that Georgia must take the necessary steps to safeguard its democracy, democratic institutions, and processes,” Romanian Foreign Minister Oana-Silvia Tsoiu stated ahead of the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting.
She also reiterated Romania’s desire for Georgia to continue along its European journey.
“As neighbours of the Black Sea, we are among the first European nations to establish a strategic partnership with Georgia. We want Georgia to persist on its European path and for the will of its citizens to be truly reflected in political decisions. This is especially crucial given the Black Sea’s significance, not only for European security but also for energy transportation, infrastructure development, and submarine cable connections,” Tsoiu added.
