Fuel supplied to the Georgian government will become more expensive in August 2026, with updated prices published on the State Procurement Agency’s website showing an average increase of 5-15% compared with July.
Under the consolidated tender, the government purchases regular fuel from SOCAR, premium fuel from Rompetrol, super and diesel from Wissol, and Euro diesel from Gulf. The updated August prices are:
- Euro Regular: GEL 3.02 per liter, up from GEL 2.85 in July (+GEL 0.17, +6.0%)
- Premium: GEL 3.04 per liter, up from GEL 2.87 (+GEL 0.17, +5.9%)
- Super: GEL 3.34 per liter, up from GEL 3.17 (+GEL 0.17, +5.4%)
- Euro Diesel: GEL 3.37 per liter, up from GEL 3.20 (+GEL 0.17, +5.6%)
Government fuel prices are recalculated monthly based on a formula that takes into account the average Platts European Market fuel price, the GEL exchange rate, excise tax, and VAT. Only the Platts price and exchange rate are adjusted monthly.
According to the contract terms, prices are updated if the difference from the previous month exceeds 3%. The increase was triggered by a rise in the Platts benchmark price, which reached $1,032 per tonne in July, compared with $948 in June.
