Former head of the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation, Giorgi Chikovani, appeared at the State Security Service of Georgia today alongside former economy minister Levan Davitashvili. According to the agency, the Anti-Corruption Department is examining a contract signed with a major oil company. Chikovani stepped down from his post in June 2024 and filed his latest asset declaration in September 2025.

The declaration shows that Chikovani owns two apartments and a country house. In 2019 he bought a 52 m² apartment on Mikheil Tamarashvili Street for USD 51,500, and an 81 m² unit on the same street for USD 80,200. He also inherited a 603 m² summer house in Betania in 2018 and owns a garage on Tamarashvili Street purchased for USD 5,000.

His wife, Nino Kakhniauri, is a co-owner of inherited land plots in the Telavi municipality. The couple’s 2025 declaration lists Chikovani’s shares in several companies, though none are active and no entrepreneurial income is reported.

In an earlier declaration, Chikovani stated that as CEO of the Oil and Gas Corporation he earned GEL 205,908 in 2023 — about GEL 17,000 per month. His wife received GEL 40,538 from the Public Broadcaster in 2024 and earned an additional GEL 22,971 from photo and video services.
