In January 2026, Georgia re-exported $100.7 million worth of vehicles, marking a 22.5% decrease (or $29.3 million) compared to the same month of the previous year.
According to the report published by Geostat, the decline in auto re-exports is primarily linked to reduced demand from Central Asian markets. The largest drop occurred in Kyrgyzstan, Georgia’s biggest destination for re-exported cars, where exports fell by 30%, decreasing to $47.8 million. A similar trend was observed in Kazakhstan, where vehicle re-exports declined by 37%, totaling $23.5 million.
However, not all markets moved downward. Exports to Tajikistan increased, reaching $4.9 million in January 2026, providing a partial offset to the decline in the region.
