What Commodities Does Georgia Export Abroad?

Georgia exported commodities USD 5.71 billion worth in 8 months of the current year, which is USD 963 million or 37% more compared to the previous year, - according to the preliminary data from the National Statistics Office Of Georgia (Geostat).

In January-August 2022 copper ores and concentrates reclaimed the first place in the list of top export items, equaling USD 684 million with 19.1% of total exports. The exports of motor cars totaled USD 491 million and their share in the total exports amounted to 13.7%. The exports ferro-alloys occupied the third place standing at USD 372 million and constituting 10.4% of the total exports.

MAJOR COMMODITY GROUPS BY EXPORTS

1) Copper ores and concentrates - USD 684 million, an increase of 37% compared to the previous year;
2) Motor cars - USD 491 million, an increase of 67% compared to the previous year;
3) Ferroalloys - USD 372 million, an increase of 40% compared to the previous year;
4) Nitrogen fertilizers - USD 193 million, an increase of 239% compared to the previous year;
5) Wines of fresh grapes- USD 146 million, 1% increase compared to the previous year;
6) Spirituous beverages - USD 92 million, 2% decrease compared to the previous year;
7) Electrical energy - USD 74 million, an increase of 398% compared to the previous year;
8) Medicines - USD 67 million, an increase of 6% compared to the previous year;
9) Natural or artificial mineral and aerated waters, not containing added sugar - USD 67 million, a decrease of 28% compared to the previous year;
10) Precious metal ores and concentrates- USD 60 million, an increase of 125% compared to the previous year.

In January-August 2022 the share of the top ten trading partners by imports in the total imports of Georgia amounted to 66.7%. The top partners were Turkey (USD 1 467.3 million), Russia (USD 1 068.5 million) and China (USD 724.0 million).
