Today, May 14, the Parliament adopted the "Russian Law" in the third reading. What procedures should the "Russian law" go through before it comes into force? - Procedures are published by lawyer Levan Alapishvili.

"Within 10 days after its adoption in the III reading, the Russian law will be sent to the President, who must either sign it or veto it within 2 weeks and prepare a new draft law.

The veto should be a draft law that is essentially different from the substantive law, which the president prepares/writes and returns to the parliament.

If the president does not prepare and submit the draft law (veto) within 5 days after the expiration of the term, the chairman of the parliament will sign and publish the "Russian law", which means it will come into force.

The president has already announced that he will veto the "Russian law". Accordingly, if the majority of "Georgian Dream" decides to adopt the law in this form, the probable day of overcoming the veto is June 7," Alapishvili wrote.
