A recent asset declaration has revealed extensive property holdings and financial details of Levan Kobiashvili, President of the Georgian Football Federation and former MP, and his wife, Tamara Tsuleiskiri, former director of the now-deactivated Information Center on NATO and the EU.
According to the declaration, the Kobiashvili family owns multiple properties in both Georgia and Germany. In Tbilisi, Tsuleiskiri holds two apartments on Irakli Abashidze Street:
- A 233.2 sq m apartment purchased in 2008 for $442,000
- A 193.6 sq m apartment acquired in 2013 for $99,000
Additionally, the family owns a 68.3 sq m apartment in Bakuriani’s Didveli area, acquired through an exchange valued at $65,000.
Kobiashvili himself owns:
- A 450 sq m house with land in Tskneti, Tbilisi, purchased for $50,000
- A 2,950 sq m plot in Bakuriani, valued at $115,000
- A garage in Tbilisi, sold in 2023
In Berlin, the family owns:
- A 91.3 sq m apartment (including a 10 sq m garage), purchased for €943,000
- A 780 sq m land plot and 350 sq m house, jointly owned and purchased for €1.6 million
Income and Bonuses from Federation Role
Kobiashvili declared an income of GEL 451,455.96 from the Georgian Football Federation between November 1 and December 31, 2024. This amount is believed to include bonuses for the national team's recent success, as it is listed in three parts (GEL 307,653.30, GEL 311,986.58, and GEL 108,704.08).
This sharp increase contrasts with his previously declared annual income of GEL 100,500, which he explained was a transfer error, noting that he had not received a salary from the Federation for eight years and that the 2024 amount was a one-time bonus.
In 2024, Kobiashvili also received GEL 36,663 from his role in Parliament. His wife reported GEL 72,406 from her civil service position.
Significant Cash Holdings and Modest Banking Assets
The couple holds substantial amounts in cash:
Tamara Tsuleiskiri:
- $50,000
- €50,000
Levan Kobiashvili:
- $31,000
- €30,000
- GEL 22,000
Their combined cash holdings total €80,000, $81,000 and GEL 22,000.
Their bank accounts reflect relatively modest balances:
Tsuleiskiri: $1,104 and €900
Kobiashvili: GEL 1,271.30 and €119.42
Loans and Other Financial Details
Kobiashvili has two active loans from Basisbank:
- €189,000
- GEL 390,000
The declaration also shows that Tsuleiskiri financed their daughter Salome Kobiashvili’s education in Switzerland, spending 20,000 Swiss francs.
She also earned $24,000 in rental income between 2021 and 2024.
The family owns one car, a 2013 Mercedes-Benz purchased by Tsuleiskiri in 2020 for €19,000. Kobiashvili himself did not report ownership of any vehicle.
