Davit Vardiashvili has been appointed as the new General Director of Georgian Gas Transportation Company, the state entity responsible for ensuring the smooth and stable operation of the country’s main gas pipelines. Vardiashvili previously served as the First Deputy State Governor in the Samtskhe-Javakheti region.

According to the property declaration he filed in January, Vardiashvili co-owns a 370 sq. m residential house on Mtskheta Street in Tbilisi, of which 200 sq. m is under his ownership. He also owns a 1,087 sq. m residential house in Kojori and a 43 sq. m land plot on Mtskheta Street.

His wife, Eteri Chanukvadze, owns a Mercedes-Benz car purchased in 2018 for $20,000. In terms of financial assets, Vardiashvili declared $64,000 and GEL 9,000 in cash.

In 2024, he earned GEL 48,761 in his capacity as First Deputy State Governor and GEL 6,247 for his work as an associate professor at the Georgian Technical University.

Over the course of his career, Vardiashvili has held senior roles in the Georgian State Electrosystem and the Oil and Gas Corporation, and he also served as Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs from 2016 to 2017.
