Gogita Maisuradze, director of Kumisi Poultry Company declares that imported raw materials at dumping prices create a problem for local production, as poultry companies cannot offer low prices to the consumers.
"The problem of imported eggs still exists in the country. Neighboring countries, which produce eggs in excess, sell imported eggs at dumping prices. Of course, it is possible to compete with imported products, and for that we have to offer low prices and quality eggs to our Georgian customers. However, it is difficult for Georgian manufacturers to reduce the price", explained Maisuradze.
As for the issue of price change, according to Maisuradze, the price of eggs in the Kumisi company has not increased in the last 7-8 months.
"The wheat crop has been harvested. Prices for this raw material have increased by 10-15% compared to last year. If the main imported food components become more expensive, we will review the price of eggs", said Gogita Maisuradze.
