Last year 2022, 12,324 tons of apples worth USD 7 million 922 thousand were exported from the country. During this period, the volume of goods was 20.6% lower compared to 2021, while the value 0.8% lower.
According to official statistics, the main exporting markets for apples are post-Soviet countries. Of which, the largest amount of apples is sold in Russia.

1. Russia - USD 7.5 million, 11,658 tons;
2. Armenia - USD 274 thousand, 286 tons;
3. Azerbaijan - USD 53 thousand, 236 tons;
4. Slovenia - USD 16 thousand, 40 tons;
5. Kazakhstan - USD 15 thousand, 41 tons;
6. Lithuania - USD 6 thousand, 42 tons.
7. Ukraine - USD 3 thousand, 20 tons;
In insignificant volume of apples was also exported to Singapore.
Early this year, Georgia received USD 703 thousand of income from the apple exports. In January, we exported 1,090 tons of apples only to Russia and Armenia. The main volumes of 1,083 tons were exported to Russia.
As for the imports, Georgia bought 6,338 tons of fresh apples worth USD 2,473,000 last year. Accordingly, imports increased both in volume and value (2021: 6,338 tons, USD 2.4 million).
The main importing market for apples was Turkey, and the second place in the ranking was occupied by Ukraine.
