Union of Oil Products Importers declares that imports of petroleum bitumen in Georgia amounted to 7.8 thousand tons in April 2021, which is 2.8 thousand tons or 56% more compared to March (5.0 thousand tons).
According to Oil Products Importers, 93.6% (7.3 thousand tons) of imports accounts for Azerbaijan, 6.4% (0.5 thousand tons) - Turkmenistan.
"Imports of petroleum bitumen amounted to 18.1 thousand tons in January-April 2021, which is 0.3 thousand tons or 1.7% more compared to the same period of the last year (17.8 thousand tons).
Of this, 88.4% (16.0 thousand tons) of imports accounts for Azerbaijan, 6% (1.1 thousand tons) - Iraq; 2.8% (0.5 thousand tons) – Turkmenistan; 2.8% (0.5 thousand tons) - Russia.
“As the statistics show, the imports of petroleum bitumen are growing and we think this trend will continue in the coming months. It should be noted that Azerbaijan has become the main supplier of petroleum bitumen to our country, which has replaced the Islamic Republic of Iran due to the imports suspend from this country in recent months," – the statement reads.
