As of April 2025, foreign nationals held 9.3 billion GEL in deposits across Georgian commercial banks—an 18% increase compared to the same period last year. These deposits now make up 28.5% of all individual deposits in the country.
According to data from the National Bank of Georgia, Russian citizens continue to top the list, holding the largest share of foreign resident deposits. Their total deposits amount to 3.44 billion GEL, representing 37% of all foreign-held funds.
Israeli citizens are the second-largest depositors, with 1.02 billion GEL, followed by Ukrainian citizens, who hold approximately 558 million GEL in Georgian banks.
