According to preliminary data from Geostat, Georgia’s economy expanded by 7.5% in 2025. The country’s GDP reached GEL 104.6 billion (approximately $38.1 billion), and GDP per capita surpassed the $10,000 mark for the first time, reaching $10,296.
The fastest-growing sector was Information, Communication, and IT, which surged 28.7%. In absolute terms, this sector’s GDP was GEL 7.37 billion, placing it fourth in size among all sectors. The education sector recorded the second-highest growth at 24.5%, followed by the financial sector with 12.9% growth.
However, some sectors saw a decline in activity. These include:
- Mining and quarrying: -3%
- Agriculture: -5.7%
- Energy: -4.5%
These figures highlight Georgia’s shift toward high-value service sectors while traditional industries faced contraction last year.
