Whisky imports and exports to and from Georgia showed strong growth in the first quarter of 2026, according to data released by the National Statistics Office (Geostat). Both the value and volume of imported whisky increased significantly compared to the same period in 2025.
Between January and March 2026, Georgia imported 242,696 liters of whisky worth $5,789,100. A year earlier, imports stood at 133,227 liters valued at $3,355,900. This marks a 72.5% increase in import value and an 82.1% rise in volume year-on-year.
The leading whisky suppliers to Georgia in Q1 2026 were:
- United Kingdom – $3,482,600 (129,830 liters)
- Latvia – $937,300 (22,369 liters)
- USA – $510,400 (17,291 liters)
- Netherlands – $286,300 (5,101 liters)
- Ireland – $165,200 (5,112 liters)
- Spain – $92,600 (51,384 liters)
- France – $89,400 (2,790 liters)
- Romania – $72,100 (3,744 liters)
- UAE – $65,400 (1,686 liters)
- Germany – $40,400 (1,608 liters)
The sharp rise in whisky imports comes ahead of Tbilisi’s Whisky Festival 2026, scheduled for 16–17 May in the Georgian capital.
