Avocado Imports Rise in Georgia as Average Price Falls

Georgia's avocado imports increased in the first five months of 2026, while the average import price declined, according to data from Geostat. During January–June, the country imported 1,280 tonnes of avocados worth $3.3 million, compared with 982 tonnes worth $2.6 million in the same period last year. Based on these figures, avocado imports grew, while the average import price decreased by around 3%.

Avocado imports to Georgia have been rising steadily in recent years. Imports increased from 310 tonnes worth $838,200 in 2020 to 2,050 tonnes worth $5.4 million in 2025, reflecting growing consumer demand.

In 2026, the largest source of avocados for Georgia was the Netherlands, from which the country imported 668 tonnes worth $2.2 million. Turkey ranked second with 492 tonnes worth $877,400, followed by Israel with 56 tonnes worth $170,200.

Other avocado suppliers included Lebanon (41 tonnes, $88,900), Kenya (21 tonnes, $43,500), and Uganda (700 kg, $1,800).
