Following Friday’s Alaska summit, the United States is hosting another historic event. This time, the location is Washington, with the White House as the meeting venue. Today, Volodymyr Zelensky will arrive in America to meet Donald Trump together with all four European G7 leaders, NATO’s Secretary General, and the President of the European Commission. The summit will also be attended by Finland’s President, Alexander Stubb, a close European ally of the U.S. leader and an outspoken supporter of Ukraine.
The aim of this multilateral meeting is to discuss the conditions put forward by Putin at the Alaska summit. American and European leaders will talk about a ceasefire, security guarantees for Ukraine, territorial exchanges, and the lifting of sanctions on Russia. Also on the agenda will be a potential trilateral U.S.-Ukraine-Russia meeting, for which all three sides have already expressed readiness. The detailed schedule of the White House visit has not yet been disclosed, but it is confirmed that the U.S. President will receive Volodymyr Zelensky in the Oval Office. It is expected that, following the multilateral talks, a joint press conference will also be held.
