“Many occurrences take place in the world today that have a significant impact on the cost of WizzAir’s budget ticket," the Corporate Communications Manager of Wizz Air told BMG in response to the question of why did WizzAir tickets become more expensive.
According to Zsuzsa Trubek, the airline's policy to offer air tickets to customers at the most affordable prices and allowing as many people as possible to travel has not changed, but everything has an impact on ticket prices - from aviation fuel prices to the Russia-Ukraine War.
"We are eager to continue operating at budget prices due to which the number of our customers is growing every year, but current factors do not allow us to do so. We hope we can catch prices, but we cannot guarantee, because if the cost of fuel increases further, we will have to increase ticket prices - otherwise, it becomes impossible to operate. Such is our business model.
The pricing policy is heavily dependent on fuel prices, but we do our best to keep the value up until the last minute,” said Zsuzsa Trubek, Corporate Communications Manager of Wizz Air.
