Bidzina Gonashvili, the head of meat product producer company Tserti, says that due to the increase in the price of raw materials, the price of products has already increased and growth is still expected.
Bidzina Gonashili says that the price of meat in the local market increased by 30% annually, and in the case of milk, the increase reached even higher 35-40%.
Speaking about the expectations for 2023, Gonashvili says that in January, the prices of milk will increase further, while meat price will likely remain at the current level, which in itself will affect the products produced by Tserti.
"I think the prices will stabilize this year. We do not expect meat price to increase, while milk has become more expensive. We cooperate with three farms and from January we will buy milk at an even higher price. It will affect the prices. Raw materials have become more expensive for us by 20%, supposedly it won't be reflected in product price directly, but I think there will be at least a 15% price increase. This process is also difficult for us, the increase in prices reduces consumption, and no one benefits from this, although we have no other solution," Gonashvili said.
