Georgia’s Mountain Trails Agency (MTA), operating under the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, will officially open the 2026–2027 winter season on December 20. The season will begin simultaneously in Gudauri, Bakuriani, Goderdzi and Mestia.

According to MTA, Gudauri will welcome visitors with new infrastructure. Two new drag lifts, with a combined length of 1,400 meters, are being built in the snowpark area, alongside a 200-meter covered magic carpet. The dismantling of the old Khada and Snowpark lifts has been completed. The works are being carried out by the Austrian-Swiss Doppelmayr Garaventa Group.

Two new ski runs, Kobi 3 and Tatra 3, are also under construction, with a combined length of six kilometers. Once completed, Gudauri’s total ski-run network will extend to 86 kilometers.

Artificial snowmaking systems are being installed on the Soliko and Kikilo runs, covering a combined 7,500 meters. Gudauri also plans to install lighting on the New Gudauri run to enable night skiing. All works are scheduled for completion in December.
