“The Georgian people hear your support, but they demand action—words are no longer enough. They cannot fight alone. Stand with them now, before it is too late,” Giorgi Gakharia, Chair of the For Georgia Party stated in the ‘Address to Friends of Georgia in the United States of America’.
In the address, Gakharia emphasizes that half-measures are dangerously insufficient and calls for the introduction of targeted personal sanctions.
“The Georgian people are in the streets, enduring the brutal violence of the Ivanishvili regime. They are being beaten but remain unbroken, their courage reflecting an unwavering commitment to freedom and a European future. This struggle is not only theirs; it is a battle for justice and democracy against autocracy.
The Georgian people hear your support, but they demand action—words are no longer enough. They cannot fight alone. Stand with them now, before it is too late! Half-measures are dangerously insufficient. Do not legitimize the Georgian Dream government. Immediately introduce targeted personal sanctions to support the people on the streets, so we can ensure a new date for elections—free, fair, and accompanied by a complete leadership change in key institutions. These include the Central Election Commission (CEC), the State Security Service (SSG), the Public Defender’s Office, the Special Investigation Service, the Personal Data Protection Inspectorate, and the State Audit Service,” Gakharia’s address concludes.
