During the extended March holidays, Russian female tourists mainly prefer to travel within Russia, with a focus on popular tourist spots such as Moscow and St. Petersburg. However, international destinations also enjoy significant demand, with Yerevan, Minsk, and Istanbul standing out in particular.
According to data from travel services "tutu" and "OneTwoTrip," provided by RIA Novosti, Yerevan has become the top international destination for Russian women during this period. Approximately 18.5% of all flight bookings are for trips to the Armenian capital.
Following Yerevan are Minsk, accounting for 16.6% of flight bookings, and Istanbul, which represents 6.2% of all bookings.
Similar trends are observed in the "tutu" service, where there is also significant demand for trips to Istanbul, Yerevan, Dubai, Minsk, and Tashkent.
Earlier, the Ministry of Economy of Armenia reported that in January 2024 alone, the country welcomed about 154 thousand tourists. This figure is slightly lower than the previous year when the number of tourists reached 159 thousand. However, compared to 2022, when only 94 thousand tourists visited the country, there has been a significant increase in tourist arrivals.
