During the meeting of the Elder's Council of Yerevan on April 29, the city announced its decision to acquire an additional 171 new buses as part of the public transportation improvement program. As reported by the Yerevan Municipality, the contract has already been signed, and the financial resources have been allocated.
These measures are being implemented as part of the development program for Yerevan in 2024, which includes the strategy of reforming the capital's public transportation. According to this plan, approved in December 2023, it is planned to purchase 171 buses with a length of 8.5 meters this year.
Additionally, under the same program, another 249 buses with a length of 19 meters will be purchased. Metro carriages are also scheduled for modernization, along with the acquisition of 71 new trolleybuses.
