Fines issued for traveling without a ticket on public transport in Tbilisi totaled GEL 2.7 million in January–September 2026, up 63% compared with the same period last year, according to a report published by the Finance Ministry’s Treasury.
With the penalty set at GEL 20 per offense, more than 136,000 fines were issued during the first nine months of the year.
Ticket inspections on Tbilisi’s public transport network are carried out by the monitoring service of Tbilisi Transport Company LLC.
