According to the new draft law initiated by the government for vocational education, connections between general, vocational and higher education will be improved. As stated by Ketevan Natriashvili, Deputy Minister of Education and Science, if a citizen of Georgia decides to obtain vocational education after completion of 9 grades, he/she will have an opportunity to obtain general education in parallel with vocational education; and in case of higher education, university will allow getting credits in relevant direction.
“The draft law involves many novelties, to respond to almost all the challenges faced by vocational education. The novelties include issues like improved connection between general, higher and vocational education. It is envisaged that if a citizen of Georgia decides to obtain vocational education after completion of 9 grades, he/she will have an opportunity to complete general education in parallel with vocational education. accordingly, as soon as he/she decides to go for higher education, university will recognize the credits,” – states Natriashvili.
