The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, the LEPL National Tourism Administration of the Ministry and the Fliggy Corporate, an affiliated company of the one of the largest corporations in the world, the Alibaba, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The signing ceremony was held in Beijing, within the framework of the working visit of the First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitry Kumsishvili to the People’s Republic of China. The Fliggy Corporate is the tourist platform of the Alibaba. Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Giorgi Cherkezishvili signed the Memorandum on the behalf of Georgia.
The Memorandum aims to add Georgia to the Alibaba’s platform, which will help to enter additional tourist flow to Georgia. “The main segment of this portal consist of young people under 35 who, traditionally, travel much and consequently, we hope that the Memorandum and this platform will be another instrument to attract additional stream of tourists to Georgia,” – George Cherkezishvili stated following the signing of the Memorandum.
