“Due to specificity of execution of PDO and PGI rights and measures necessary for this purpose it is not possible to specifically clarify or plan the objects of Georgian PDO and PGI for specific goods and the volume of measures to be taken”, - is stated in the explanation of the authority.
At the first stage, Sakpatenti will initialize legal measures in Estonia and Latvia, where multiple cases of illegal usage of Georgian geographic indication Sulguni and Chirchkhela were registered. In Estonia, cases of improper registration of trademarks with Georgian names of wines Kindzmarauli, Kvanzkali, Kindzmali have been noted. Georgian party will also make disputable the fact of illegal usage of Kindzmarauli name in Russia.
