Georgia spent USD 36.4 million last year to buy 24,740 tons of margarine from Georgia. According to official statistics, margarine imports in 2021 increased by 69.2% compared to 2020, and by 55.4% compared to 2019.

Russia, Turkey and Ukraine are the three main markets for margarine imports.

TOP-10 Importing Countries:

1. Russia - USD 17.7 million, 12 069 tons;
2. Turkey - USD 6.1 million, 4,657 tons;
3. Ukraine - USD 6 million, 3,667 tons;
4. Azerbaijan - USD 2.6 million, 1,997 tons;
5. Poland - USD 2.3 million, 1,506 tons;
6. Sweden - USD 558.4 thousand, 272 tons;
7. Belgium - USD 305 thousand, 177 tons;
8. United Arab Emirates - USD 162 thousand, 131 tons;
9. Indonesia - USD 154 thousand, 89 tons;
10. Netherlands - USD 94 thousand, 34 tons.

In addition, Georgia buys small amount of margarine from Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Germany, Italy, France and Belarus.

As for margarine imports this year, Georgia bought 3,163 tons of margarine worth $ 4.9 million in January.
